1st Year Beat the Bleep

DCUstory1The DCU and John Murray Show have set a challenge to find out how fit our First Year students are; and to demonstrate how fitness can easily be improved in our schoolchildren if they have an incentive. This challenge is open to all First Year Classes in all of Ireland - there will be three categories; Classes from: Boys Only Schools; Girls Only Schools; and Co-educational Schools.

The first stage of the Challenge requires all First Year Classes who want to participate to undertake a “Bleep Test” for all students. When the results have been collated a challenge will be issued on the show for all participating classes and full details of the “incentive” will be announced. Prizes will be awarded in three categories: boys only school; girls only school; and mixed school. There will be two elements to the prize: €1,000 towards their Physical Education programme - for each winning class; and a three day on-campus sports and activity camp, at DCU, including accommodation and food, for all the winning classes.

Good Luck to our 1st year’s classes 1A1 and 1A3 who are taking part in the “Get fit & Beat the Bleep” challenge.
