First year Visual Art Students enjoyed a day rich in culture when they visited the National Self Portrait Gallery in UL.

They also experienced what it would be like to study to become an architect, having a tour of the studio where the architecture students were busy with their creative works . Dermot McNamara (Architecture student) took the time to show us the value of the creative process and the essential nature of a visual art education in pursuing architecture as a career.

It seemed this one to one conversation where it was explained that architecture touches so many areas of life, sport, living quarters, city planning, etc. sparked for some the notion that this might be a career choice they would like to pursue. One where they can combine artistic talents with maths and technical graphics.
